HISTORY

Muckross Gym Club was founded in December 1974 with 14 pupils from Muckross Park College. It has grown to its present day number of over 200 members. The Club caters for gymnasts at all levels. The majority of the gymnasts train for one hour per week with higher levels training a couple of hours more up to the advanced gymnasts who train at least 9 hours per week. The competitive groups have been very successful over the years and have had many major achievements, including representation at International events, the most notable being the World Championships, European and Junior European Championships. Our Gymnasts have won many medals and awards at Regional, National and International level. We currently have two gymnasts on the National Squad - Caoimhe Basquille & Darragh Matthews

Membership of the Club opened to pupils from other schools when Muckross closed its Junior School a number of years ago. We still have many members from Muckross Park College and many of our Coaches also attended Muckross. We currently train at St. Kilian's German School, Clonskeagh, Dublin 14

Muckross Park Gym Club is affiliated to the Irish Gymnastics Association and our coaches are IGA approved
